Meet Javier Milei,who has been elected as the new president of Argentina.

Nicknamed ‘The Madman’ , President Milei attributes his success as a politician to social media and the young voters who  live in it.

He was a relatively unknown politician who became popular recently. He is a far-right-wing Politician with ideologies similar to those of Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

Milei, is a charming self-proclaimed 'Anarcho-Capitalist' , with a trademark 'Wolverine' hairstyle.

The anarcho-capitalists mainly favour 'privatisation' over  'state control'  and vouch for the importance of  'free markets'.

His hairstyle is a complex combination of mullet, moptop and mohawk styles.Argentines call him 'The Wig' due to this peculiar, stylish hair style.

Milei was born in Palermo, Buenos Aires, in October of year 1970.His father was a bus driver and mother a house wife. Before joing politics Javier Milei played soccer, like every other Argentine where soccer is considered as a religion.He stopped playing soccer later though he still loves following it. Last year ,When Argentina won world cup again, with the might of soccer superstar Messi , Milei tweeted 'His glory fills me with happiness'.  After that episode in his life, he sang songs for a rock band he formed named 'Everest'. They  mainly played songs from the popular music band 'The Rolling stones'. According to him "When I stopped playing soccer I realized that I had a lot of free time. So I put together a rock band, Everest. I don't play any instruments, nor did I study singing. I sang, yes, because it came out intuitively.” Milei became an instant hit in Television shows for his ideas on Tantrik desire and Argentine economy revival. When it comes to personal life, Javier Milei can not live without his 4 pet dogs. He is not married and is currently dating 'Fátima Eugenia Flórez' an Argentine actress and a comedian. He has previously dated Argentine singer Daniela , a former member of the musical group "Las Primas". In an interview during 2021,she said, "I love how he(Javier Milei) talks. He is a person who gives me a lot of confidence, he is very intelligent. And above all, he has a great sense of humor.It makes me laugh a lot, and that is very important in life". He got dressed himself in a self made superhero avatar , during a recent Japanese Otaku( オタク) animation  event. Where he proclaimed  "I am General Ancap. I come from Liberland, a land created by the principle of original appropriation of man. A land of 7 square kilometers between Croatia and Serbia, a country where taxes are not paid, a country where individual liberties are defended, where you believe in the individual and there is no place for collectivist who want to screw up our life".He is also called as'The Lion' for such outbursts.

Argentina has seen a soaring 140 percent hike in inflation and a sliding home currency ,making life tough for its citizens.

He appeared at the recent election campaigns wielding a chainsaw( a symbol of what he intends to do to the economic system) and sometimes with a $100 bill with his face on it.

He does this to emphasize on using the US dollar as the de facto currency and to advocate for scrapping existing 'Argentine Peso (ARS)'. He has proposed the abolition of the Central Bank of Argentina,which would result in a defacto dollarized economy.His stance has further weakened value of 'ARS'. At the moment one USD is trading equivalent to 353.8 ARS. Some of his other ideas include legalising the sale of human organs, dramatically slashing social spending, downplaying the crimes of Argentina’s 1976-83 dictatorship, and cutting ties with Argentina’s two most important trade partners, Brazil and China. Donald Trump congratulated Milei on his victory and wrote, "The whole world was watching! I am very proud of you. You will turn your country around and truly Make Argentina Great Again!" on his Truth Social platform. Juan Gonzalez, journalist and author of the biography of Milei, "El Loco" (The Crazy One) thinks that, Milei is an 'unstable leader' for an 'unstable country'. And political analyst Virginia Oliveros said that, "He has no team, no plan. It's not clear what he's going to do. I think that people are not going to have any patience with him, this honeymoon is not going to last."  Javier Milei pledged a “new era” for Argentina as he was sworn in as the country’s new president on December 10 2023. “I want you to be aware that we are going to begin the reconstruction of Argentina after more than a hundred years of decline, redrawing the ideas of freedom, although we are going to have to endure a period of hardness, we will move forward.”

“We are going to be a power again, The outgoing government has left us on track towards hyperinflation," Milei said. We are going to do everything we can to avoid such a catastrophe", he added.

He also warned, inflation, if not controlled could reach 15,000% annually, in his speech and pledged to "fight tooth and nail" to prevent it. He also talked about a $100 billion debt bomb. And he reminded Trump when he said, "We are going to put the country back on its feet and make Argentina great again". Let's wait and watch to see who all got it right as history unfolds itself.
