A garden adorned with butterflies perched on flower tops is every child's dream.
The presence of butterflies, for sure adds to the beauty of enchanting flowers.
It's such a great feeling to just stand in a windy garden and admire the exquisite beauty of the monarchs and papilions flying gently from one flower to the other.
Butterflies love to visit places surrounded by small streams and puddles.
If there are rocks and flowered plants near by them , then he butterflies will choose the place as a favourite destination to swarm.
Butterflies feed themselves with nectar and pollen.The sugar in the nectar energize them .The pollen is a rich source of protein, fat, vitamins and minerals.
While feasting on nectar, butterflies transfer pollen from one plant to another and thus help plants in their fruit bearings.It is a strange but known fact that a butterfly has its taste buds attached to it's legs.Due to this reason they enjoy the foods using their legs.
Butterflies love foods with salt content. They like human tears and sweat which are rich in salt.At the time of breeding this sodium content from male butterfly gets transferred to the female.
Some of the favourite plants destinations of butterflies include milkweed, sweetpea, marigold,zinnia,
black-eyed susan, salvia, sunflower,
hibiscus and rose.
Sometimes a cluster of butterflies(roost) can be seen attached to a thick resin produced by a plant
'Macaranga peltata',commonly found in India and Thailand.
So if you can make a small garden considering some of the above facts, butterflies will slowly find that garden.
And the place will indeed become a treat for the eyes.
